6-Year Baccalaureate School
The Canton of Zug has two public baccalaureate schools known as "Kantonsschule" or "Gymnasium". After completing Grade 6 of the primary school students may enroll, if qualified. Entry to public gymnasiums is highly selective and determined by factors such as academic achievement, social competence and personal maturity. Annually, just under 20% of Swiss students attend gymnasium. The language of instruction is German, unless students are enrolled in the bilingual German/English program starting in the fourth year.
